The REAL history of the Cleaning Expo UK

The ONLY show worth visiting for window cleaning

Before we uncover the origion story of the cleanig Expo.

We welcome newbie's getting innitated into the world of window cleaning.

Tip our brushes to experienced water fed pole masters.

Arguably the best show to attend for UK window cleaning is the cleaning expo UK.

Exhibited at the NAEC in Warwickshire, its must attend event for all exterior cleaners.

This has become the mecca of window cleaning shows.

How was the cleaning expo this year?

Each year the cleaning expo gets better and better.

I've personally been to about 3 shows over the last 5 years.

Each year I didnt attent experiencing serious FOMO, but this last few years its slowly changing.

The cleaning expo is not just for window cleaning...

As the industry matures there are new players making great equipment and offering their services.

A noticable trend this year was the maturity of gutter cleaning and softwashing equipment suppliers.

With a real competative choice between the big boys SkyVac and Gutter Vacuum Systems putting on great stalls and deals exclusive for the cleaning expo.

Softwashing is making a stronger presence at the show each year as the opportity grows

HERO Softwash being an early company to keep an eye on.

54 Exhibitors made it to the Event across many industries including software, insurance and marketing.

It's safe to say this is the BEST place to meet your favourite companies and YouTube stars face to face is at this show specifically....

Your favourite YouTubers made it

Casually walking around the stalls Youtubers and educators were checking out suppliers and greeting fans.

But who came?

We saw Squeaky Clean Dave, Trad man, Ashley Mackintosh and the emerging youtube legend Sid Partridge.

The community is made up of great guys and girls but there are plenty of others behind the scenes making it all happen.

Whos the orchestrator of the show?

Low key window cleaning celebrity.

YouTube and Facebook group knowkedge spreader.

Mark Munro is the guy behind the cleaning expo.

Starting his career out as a plumber, then into the building trade.

Mark found himself in the world of window cleaning at the perfect time.

In the late 90's Mark was the first in his market to introduce water fed pole window cleaning.

The external cleaning industy has changed alot over the last 10 years in the UK.

But how does an ex trades man come to run THE largest cunsumer window cleaning shows in the UK?

Window cleaners on a cricket pitch

8 years ago there was nothing like the cleaning expo

But it was'nt called this yet.

The first show was actually called WCP show which stood for the window cleaning page show.

Mark recognised window cleaners in the industry wanted to meet up and get together.

But before the first show Mark and others in the industury were sharing many tips and tricks online.

This was on YouTube and on Facebook before it was called Meta.

One of Marks most popular videos was on how to make a DIY water fed pole trolly helping many first time cleaners get into WFP for under £130.

At the time this was very valuable information because these systems were retailing for around £500 but this was back in 2014 before the industry began to mature.

A seedling window cleaning community had emeged.

So Mark hired out a cricket pitch and set up a basic stall and marquee.

Invited people from the community on social media, before we called it this

Then roughly 300 people attended for the first show!

This was the beginnings of the clean expo.

The second year was even better

After the first years success suppliers were invited to the show.

A charity raffel was used where suppliers offered equipment and the proceedes were donated to charitable causes including Cancer research UK.

And so the show grew from there from humble beginnings occupying a field in Dorset.

The shows were all in marquees before taking up room in the smallest exhibition space at the NAEC.

To now occupying the LARGEST exhibition hall at the NAEC!

10 year anniversary comming up soon...

This year marked the 9th cleaning expo UK event.

2023 will mark the 10th aniversary for the cleaning expo.

A very special acheivment considering it all started on a cricket pitch.

With last year 1500 -2000 people attending the show

Mark Munro and the team might just put on something extra special for the community to mark the 10th Aniversary.

As soon as we get the inside scoop, I'll let you know here!

Why the NAEC and how to get there?

With ample parking and located no more than 2 hours from most majour cities in the UK.

Mark chose the location to make it easy for the whole community.

The NAEC is strategically positioned between London, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham.

Using the Sat Nav post code CV8 2LH.

Getting there by car you will see the NAEC sign posted as "Nat Agric. Centre".

By train, get to Coventry station or Warwick Parkway then just a 5 minute taxi ride.

Or by bus and coach, a 6 mile taxi from Coventry bus station or a 9 mile taxi from Warwick bus station.

The NAEC is probably the best location in the UK for our size of show with plenty of travel options available to you.

Cleaning expo tickets

Mark and the team put on a great show in 2022 with a small team of organisers making this a very affordable event to attent for both exterior cleaners and suppliers.
